The Band

KEVIN MOORE - THE DRUMMER
Kevin Moore (Drummer) has been playing the drums since his teenage years in Montreal.
Early influences were heavy rock bands such as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, etc. However, in his college years and beyond, whilst living and playing around the Ottawa Valley area, he found the music most often played in the surrounding towns was a mix of Country and Rock. So, that was the style of music he most often played.
Kevin was one of the founding members of the Country Music band "Whistlin' Dixie", which played throughout East Anglia and down as far as Kent during the 1990's and the early part of this century.
When the group disbanded in 2002 some of the members formed the now "Cool Remedy".
Their music shifted from an emphasis on "Country" to their now known liking for "Country-Rock". Kevin loves playing the drums and loves a strong beat. Together with 'Mr Bassman', Stuart Gordon, they build a strong Rhythm Section that supports this great band.

STUART GORDON - MR BASSMAN
After many, many, many years strumming a six string Stuart has finally found the instrument of choice, mainly because it has fewer strings.
His first band at 16 was called Slipshod - then they found out that the name reflected the content and changed it numerous times including Pigeon, Druid's Ankle, and even Sandalwood (we tried to play the clubs). He is now loving being in a band of musicians who can actually play, but don't take it all too seriously, the comment "you don't get that with a disco" has been known to be mouthed to the audience.
The vocal harmonies are one of the best things Stuart likes about this band, as well as being the youngest member - until the new boy came along.

RICHARD COLVER - THE NEW BOY GUITARIST
Richard took up guitar at the age of 11, and with a few friends formed prog-rock band 'Ossirus', writing original material influenced by Deep Purple and Rush. Demo tapes still exist, to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world when ready!
Emerging from his self-indulgent musical haze, Richard then played the local Birmingham club circuit, before a brief stint writing material for christian band 'Shekinah'. Having settled into domestic bliss with his wife Denise, they moved to Ipswich in 1993.
In 2003 he came out of 'retirement' to join the acoustic covers band 'Stickpeople' where he briefly met up with Kev 'drummer' Moore before Kev left for Cool Remedy.
Kev's memory of his Stickpeople days must have been somewhat blurred, when he invited Richard to audition for lead guitarist during August 2009. 'New Boy' is now enjoying playing with a great bunch of musically established and talented guys and says "joining Cool Remedy has been like putting on a favourite old pair of slippers!"

KEITH LLOYD - CAMPERVAN MORRISON
Keith, at 61, is the old man of the band. He started out as an 'Intruder' when he was just 13, making his debut unsuccessfully at Rushmere Hall youth club.
Initially he played Lead guitar but, he he joined The Reaction with Richard B, he switched to keyboard.
It was Lloyd's idea to rename that band 'Tripe'! He has had many equally good ideas since then!
Keith has played in a range of line-ups over the years. He is often seen at Ipswich Wanderers ground enjoying the football and the clubhouse.

RICHARD BLOMFIELD - THE SINGER
I began my life in bands in the sixties, in a local outfit called The Skyliners, which comprised a group of school mates all aged around fifteen.
Probably the first song that we learned then was “Love Me Do” one of the earliest records by the Beatles . From there, I played in a five piece soul band known on and off as The Reaction, and latterly as Dr Dick’s Dilemma, concentrating on real soul numbers by Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, and others including Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band. Keith Lloyd, the keyboard player in Cool Remedy, was also in our band so our association and friendship goes back a long way.
Some years later, I was invited to join a country music band called Whistlin’ Dixie and was surprised to learn that I had been a country music fan for most of my life without realising it. Whistlin’ Dixie played for several years throughout the Eastern Counties. Cool Remedy was formed as a result of a continuing desire on the part of everyone in it to play and perform live music. Although sometimes known as a country rock band, our tastes in music are not constrained by that banner and we perform a wide range of numbers.
I consider it a real privilege to be part of a band of such nice blokes and talented musicians. There are no Prima Donna characters here, and no egos that need massaging. In any band, that is a rare and special thing.
