In 2003 four chaps from the Suffolk country band WHISTLIN' DIXIE started exploring the music beyond the confines of country.
They were Richard Blomfield (lead vocals), Kevin Moore (drums), Ricky Morris (steel guitar)
and Keith Lloyd (lead guitar and keyboard). Joined by Stuart Gordon (bass), they were soon starting out on the road;
playing a mix of Springsteen favourites, old stuff and some very modern songs. Ricky left to pursue a musical career
in West Suffolk (but still keeps in touch) and the band continued with four.
Six years later those four chaps are now five - after new lead guitarist Richard Colver decided to join the band in 2009.
Cool Remedy have pretty much stayed with their original musical formula - and it seems to work!
All five musicians are East of Ipswich boys now and a little known fact is that Richard B and Keith played together in the
1965 popular band 'The Reaction'.
No one is quite sure where Cool Remedy's name came from. Was it copied from a soothing ointment, a relief from....?
